Step 1

Shut off main water and turn off or unplug your sprinkler timer. Then turn off or unplug your sprinkler timer.

Step 2

Find the solenoid that is not working and cut wires.

Step 3

Remove solenoid by unscrewing it counter clockwise.

Install new solenoid into the valve by screwing it in clockwise.

Splice the wires by cutting outer layer back 1/2 inch.

Using wire nuts, twist the wires together until wires are secure.

Use a grease cap over each wire nut to secure and protect the connection by pushing the wire nuts into the grease caps and closing the caps.
