Select the items you wish to purchase:
Measure out the distance and pathway to where you are going to move your sprinkler to insure you know the amount of pipe you will need.
Dig out a path way from were the sprinkler head currently resides to were you will be moving it. Make sure to give your self plenty of room to work with.
Determine the kind of pipe and fittings are being used so you can match them.
Remove the sprinkler head. Usually this is accomplished by simply twisting the head in counter clockwise direction.
Remove the fitting with a pair of pliers or with your hands. If you are careful it should be reusable.
If you have flex pipe cut the end where it flairs approximately 1-inch from the opening.
Connect a couplet and the end of the pipe.
Connect the new pipe to the other end of the coupler.
Measure pipe to where you are moving the sprinkler head and cut the pipe to length.
Insert fitting.
Connect the sprinkler head to the fitting.
Place sprinkler and cover with dirt about half way. Next, ensure the sprinkler head is level, ensuring the most efficient spray arc from your sprinkler.
Pack in dirt around the sprinkler to avoid the movement.
Fill rest of the way and replace sod.
